BINCHE WHUT&rsquoENBAND MANAGER Opening Date: July 12, 2019Closing Date: July 30, 2019 Position Purpose: The successful applicant will be highly motivated to run the day by day business of Binche Whut&rsquoen and oversee the various departments within the organization. Must be able to produce financial statements and be on top of budgets with Program Coordinators so as to not incur any deficits within the organization. The successful candidate must work well with our community members and continue the efforts to bring Binche Whut&rsquoen progressively forward. This person must be a leader as well as a team player with all staff and the leadership. Must have top notch computer skills and organizational skills. The Band Manager is responsible to the current Interim Chief & Council. The applicant will have to reapply once the Internship has ended with the then newly elected Chief & Council. Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Ability to treat Binche Whut&rsquoen members with respect and to be considerate of the detrimental effects of colonization and residential schools on Indigenous people. Must demonstrate principal and ethical leadership. Excellent communication skills both orally and written. Well-developed interpersonal skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence. Strong management, coaching and mentoring skills. Must have a comprehensive understanding of Indigenous issues and practices and be understanding of the damaging effects of colonization and residential school experiences on Indigenous people. Education and Experience: A degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or Leadership and management (or related field) 3 to 5 years related business and management experiences This position is 6 hours per day, 5 days per week.
