GITWANGAK ADULT SCHOOL - JOB POSTINGGrade 4-7 TEACHER Gitwangak Education Society (GES) invites teacher applications/resumes for a full-time Grade 4 - Grade 7 Teacher for Gitwangak Elementary School. This is a full-time appointment from September 2019 - June 2020. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate in good standing and possess an array of professional development certificates. Related Experience: Promote high expectations and academic achievement for all students in a safe and nurturing environment Recent successful elementary teaching experience Experience with Read Well, Nelson Literacy, Jump Math and Math Makes Sense would be an asset Knowledge and experience with DIBELS Assessment tool Ability to incorporate innovative ideas and creativity in the classroom Differentiates curriculum expectations and teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students Ability to engage students in a positive learning environment Manage student behaviour in the classroom incorporating school-wide rules and discipline policy Experience and ability to infuse the Gitxsan culture / language into the curriculum is an asset Experience and knowledge with special needs students and particularly those demonstrating language delay and behavioural needs Be a team player and work with all staff in a positive manner and provide support as needed Exceptional inter-personal skills and particularly those related to parent/community involvement Salary: Negotiable and is dependent on experienceClosing Date: August 16, 2019 or until the position is filled.
