SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY SUMMER READING CLUB COORDINATOR June 28, 2022 - August 19, 2022Wage: $17.00 / hr. Burns Lake Public Library is seeking a Summer Reading Club Coordinator for eight weeks this summer. The student must have a good command of the English language and must enjoy working with children, public, books and libraries. This is an ideal position for a student who is interested in a career in Early Childhood Education (ECE), libraries or teaching. The coordinator is responsible for helping to plan and implement our eight-weeks-long Summer Reading Club for school-aged children. The program includes storytelling, crafts, games, and other activities. The main objective is to create a fun and engaging experience for the children, while encouraging them to read over the summer months. The successful candidate will: &bull have good written and spoken communication skills &bull be creative and flexible in their programming ideas and implementation &bull appreciate the importance of connecting children with literature &bull work well independently as well as with other staff&bull work well with patrons of all ages&bull have a good knowledge of libraries &bull some experience with arts/ crafts an asset Mandatory requirements:18-30 years of age, legally eligible to work in Canada, has attended school last term and is returning to school full-time in September 2022.
