The Burns Lake

The Burns Lake Public Library is looking for a detail-oriented library clerk with excellent customer service skills, a good memory, a knack for research and teen/youth supervisor. Library clerks can expect to check books and other materials in and out of the library. Shelf maintenance in assuring accurate shelving by shelf reading and re-shelving materials as needed. Helping patrons find what they need. Other responsibilities include telephone answering, notifying patrons about reserved materials. Repairing damaged books and processing new books. Keeping the library clean and tidy. Successful library clerk should have excellent organization and research skills, and a kind and friendly demeanor. Ideal candidates will have a passion for reading and learning, good English, math, computer skills and some clerical experience. Library Clerk Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Level One First Aid certificate Basic typing/computer skills Ability to learn media/computer operations Available Mondays, evenings and Saturdays Ability to follow written and oral instructions Ability to create a courteous, pleasant first impression of the library Ability to establish good patron rapport Flexibility to deal with multiple and extra unexpected tasks and patrons simultaneously Ability to learn Dewey Decimal system, automated circulation system, and library&nbspcirculation policies and procedures Applied Business Technology (ABT) certificate an asset Wage: Starting at $15.20/hrAvailable: Anytime throughout the week, evenings and Saturdays Deadline: Open until filled Please apply in person at the Burns Lake Public Library with your resume and cover letter or you can email Monika Willner, Library Director at monika@burnslakelibrary.com (1120704h)
